This is Troy Polamalu, of the Pittsburgh Steelers...
When he was recently asked in a real interview about being named the 9th dirtiest player in the NFL according to his peers in a recent Sports Illustrated poll he responded with,
In the midst of a really good weekend partying and having fun with my friends, I recieved some sad news.
One of my friends was hosting a Halloween party when a fight broke out. He was stabbed 12 times and is in the hospital. I don't know much more than that at the moment, but still, I'm keeping him in my prayers. It shook me pretty much to the core to hear this happen to one of the nicest, coolest, funniest guys I know.
I made these a few weeks ago for Wuwu's birthday dinner/potluck & since Sooz asked for the recipe for 'em, I figured I'd post it up, since Thanksgiving is rapidly approaching. Use it to impress your friends with a pleasent unexpected mix of flavors.
Ingredients:
Slider patties: 1/4 cup bread crumbs 1/2 cup boiling water 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil 1 small onion, finely chopped 1 stalk celery, minced 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme 1 1/2 teaspoons chopped fresh sage 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper 1/4 cup dried cranberries, finely chopped 1 pound 93%-lean ground turkey
Other: Triple Berry Jelly or Jam Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
How to cook it:
Put bread crumbs in bowl of boiling water and mix, then let it rest. Heat oiled pan, then add onions & brown. Add celery & stir for a couple of minutes. Add thyme, sage, salt & pepper & stir for another half minute or so, then add to the bowl of bread crumbs. Mince cranberries & add cranberries to bowl and mix. Add turkey to bowl & mix. Seperate into individual patties.
Then from there you just grill them up on the stove top and top with Triple Berry Jam and put in the buns.
